We're Lívia and Yasmin! We're friends and we share a profile here on Couchsurfing :)
We both love to travel and lead a nomadic life, we often travel together or want to have the same experience at different times, so it seemed like a great idea to share this account!

We've been friends for almost seven years, in 2022 we started backpacking, we've had lots of experiences in different volunteer positions, here on couchsurfing, we've visited some places together and many others separately!

I ( Yasmin ) currently live in Seville and Livia in Japan, but we're still passionate about traveling and seeing new places, which is why we love using this app. It's a great way to meet new people and have a real cultural exchange.

Here we will introduce each of us individually :) we don't always travel together and we will make it clear who is speaking when we apply for a new experience🫶🏽

Lívia:
My name is Lívia and I'm a Brazilian designer and photographer, born in a small town called Teresópolis, in the countryside of Rio de Janeiro. Since I was a child, I always wanted to explore as much of the world as possible, so my family and I decided to move to Rio de Janeiro before I start High School, in search of new opportunities to explore my full potential.
I have always participated in several kinds of volunteer work in Brazil, but I decided that I wanted to have experiences that would take me out of my comfort zone. So, I decided to travel outside my country.
I believe that exchanging experiences is an art form as well as the basis for all others. So my greatest desire is to have good stories to tell, instead of just things to show.
I have a great dream of one day doing a master's degree abroad in my field, but I believe that what is most valuable during the process until then is not the destination, but the journey. And for me, Couchsurfing will surely be a beautiful part of that adventure!

Yasmin:

Nice to meet you! My name is Yasmin, I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro (Brasil).
When I was a child, my biggest dream was to be a backpacker and travel the world, but it seemed far away and kind of impossible. ( spoiler alert: it’s not!!!)
It's been a few years since I discovered that there are many ways to live life, when I decided to take my first solo trip in 2022 and spent two years living in some places for a long time.
I met a lot of different people who lived the way I dreamed of living, and that was beautiful. I volunteered in lots of places, from building statues to looking after dogs, cooking and having other really nice experiences.
I'm currently studying anthropology at the University of Seville, but I'm still a traveler, and in my spare time I always try to see somewhere new :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The coolest part of couchsurfing is spreading the traveling hospitality around, being able to see that the world is full of really nice people who also share the passion for getting to know new cultures, exchanges and customs. Being able to be part of a little piece of another traveler's life is really cool, whether you're a guest or a host.

Personally we’ve decided to sign up for Couchsurfing as a way to connect even more with people during our travels . On this platform we will have many opportunities to exchange good experiences with the people, learn new languages (and maybe even teach our own), besides being able to learn about different cultures and bring the best of our culture to them. We hope to make friends for life!

Music, Movies, and Books

Livia : I consider myself a very eclectic person when it comes to music, but I believe my favourite song is "Hit The Road Jack" by Ray Charles.
Since I was a child, my favourite film is "Chihiro's Journey", but "Phantom of the Opera" comes second on my list.
I believe my favorite book, although I have many on my list, is "Enigma Variations" by Andre Aciman.

Yasmin:

I really like popular Brazilian music, like Seu Jorge and Ana Carolina. One of my favorite songs is “vestido estampado”. But I'm very eclectic and always like to explore new artists! That's how I discovered “Perota chingo”, an Argentinian band with incredible songs.
I love reading political dystopia books and my favorite is the poppy war triology, I also like poetry and fantasy :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Livia: I am very proud to have made my first sculpture, by participating in a non-profit project in England in a Buddhist center. It was an amazing experience to make art considered sacred by the monks of this center and to help this cause!

Yasmin: traveling alone! I'm always nervous, excited and happy when I'm doing this. It's liberating and magical, I feel like I'm a new person with each new experience!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Livia: I can share my skills in design and photography, as well as teach about Brazilian culture, through the typical cuisine of my country (I love to cook), besides giving my language lessons and even recommending good places to visit in my country.
I can also play a little piano, so I don't mind playing what I know for people.

Yasmin:

Good conversation about everything, shared moments, I love taking photos and drawing people too ! Teaching my language or cooking my favorite foods
