To enrich either my traveling experiences or that of other fellow travelers. Whether hosting or hanging out in town or abroad, it is nice to meet likeminded people who are truthful to the CS concept. As a result, along the way I have met people that have definitely enriched my traveling experiences, and that I'm thankful for.
On the other hand, I think a lot of people should make a much better effort to be involved in ways not exclusively limited to playing the guest role and nothing else. There are always opportunities to contribute, such as hanging out when traveling, showing your town to people or joining events.
Reading someone’s profile before contacting is a sender responsibility. Same goes for your own profile content ( which speaks volumes) and making the effort to get to know the other person beforehand whenever applicable. Sadly, most folks confuse or abuse the system, and don’t even care or realize that; in the asking is the the giving, quality for quality, emptiness for emptiness. If you understand this, you do. If you don’t, you don’t.
