About Me
ABOUT ME
Well, I have a bit of consciousness going on. I like savouring it. I do become a bit distracted but I have some main interests I'm trying to improve/wallow in (the great great hope) - bear with me, the psychology of place-making, Australian ecology and atmospheric landscapes, the history of science, neuroscience and the philosophy of mind, theatre, Celtic music (yeah) and sculpture. I see people sometimes and imagine that they're lonely or disappointed and I get surges of sympathy, possibly unnecessarily. I'd like people in developing countries to have at least the control of their lives that we do. To this end, after studying Geography, Philosophy and Arabic, I've taken the radical (loco! ridiculous!) move of beginning a course in electrical engineering, hoping to get into renewable energy. How is this going to help lonely people, I don't know. Is my brain irredeemably non-mathematical, possibly. It could be a disaster. See it up close. As NASA said to the aliens, just let us know.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by advertising that I've just moved into a darlin house with two guys who do really interesting things, but should you meet them, you'll refer to them as lanky layabouts. The house is two streets from the river and Yarra Bend Park, but also opposite Collingwood Station, which carries you to the city centre in 10 mins. We're also opposite the park which so far we've used as a front yard since our own is pretty dismal (earthworks to come). There is always one very comfortable quite long couch. We're all studying and/or working but we'll hang out, take you out to dinner, walk by the river, anything short of run away with you or spend an entire day in the Docklands.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Canberra, I'll fill this in later but it was in a bush palace with some magnetic people. They were completely great to us.
Interests
Another interest is the idea I have in my head of the atmosphere of the 90s, thinking cloudy beaches, Sheryl Crowe. Although those may not be your touchstones of that era.
