About Me

I grew up in a big family in beautiful North Idaho in the USA, and my appreciation for amazing culture and scenery has something to do with the semi European upbringing I received from my well travelled parents and the French boarding school I attended in the States.
I've played piano since I was seven, and I adore music. I appreciate art, though sometimes Nature is all the art I need to thrive, so I like to explore outdoors, though I'm not typically "outdoorsy". I grew up camping, hiking, building my own kick a** fire, though sometimes a bed is greatly appreciated. I love to meet new people, and get to see a city, town, or even village through a new perspective.
I finished my studies in Idaho and moved to Dallas, Texas, for work at a law firm. Two years later, I needed to change scenery, so I decided to become an Aupair in Italy. I signed myself up for a year, since I wanted to really live and know Italy, and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions I've made :) I've travelled from Sicily to Germany and everywhere in between, France included, and I can't tell you all the friends and surreal moments I've had on the way. I've learned to cook many new things, adding to my love of cooking even more, which I didn't know was possible. I adore cooking for people, being a good host and guest, making people comfortable and welcome.
I can't stop! I want to experience Barcelona next, but we will see where the next few months lead me :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm an enthusiastic yet laid back person who can't stay in one place too long :) I've lived in Idaho, Texas, Northern Italy, and I don't plan on stopping there. I've visited a few continents, but I am curious to discover the rest and keep making new friends and experiences that I can keep for a lifetime.
Growing up, we were encouraged to explore and travel, as I went to a French school in the US, and had international friends since I was a baby, so you can say I started young ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music: anything live, country music, classical (not baroque, sorry), jazz, blues, classic rock, acoustic guitar, piano, cello
Movies: action, cars, mystery, legal, predictable rom-com movies
Books: Eragon series, anything. I love to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would consider moving to a country where I didn't speak the language for a year to travel and learn the culture the most amazing thing I've done. Yet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to tell stories about my life and experiences; I consider sharing a piece of me with everyone I meet the best way because I do not loose myself, but I get to have a piece of their story in return. It's the best way to grow I believe.
Practically, I am very good at helping learn languages, and with my background languages in Latin, Greek, French, Spanish, and Italian, I hope we can both learn a bit more about a language and culture :)
I also love to cook, so if you can, teach me about local food, and I will prepare a meal from across the world :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope to share my overflowing personality and optimism with my host, and did I mention that I love to cook??
