About Me

I'm living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with my fiance Caleb now but we hope to someday live outside the US. I love connecting with people wherever I travel and learning more about what they're passionate about. I try to squeeze as many trips as I can into each year -- sometimes it's just a weekend trip to a new city and sometimes it's across the pond to another country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be traveling to Portugal this summer and potentially Australia after that. I'm looking to meet people during my travels and also host people as they visit Pittsburgh.

Interests

Reading (everything from Russian novels to travel writing to poetry); writing poetry and creative non-fiction; traveling to new places and learning from others; cooking vegetarian dishes and exploring Vegan restaurants; biking; yoga; learning new languages (on Welsh now!); trying new teas and scouting out the best cafes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent four days last year at the "Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru," a national arts/music festival in Wales, where I practiced my Welsh with native speakers and heard some of the most breathtaking poets and musicians compete. I also witnessed the annual "chairing of the bard" ceremony at this festival, where a poet received the highest honor in Wales and was welcomed into the Gorsedd.
