About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to do work that is meaningful and personally fulfilling through: cooking, service, farming, facilitating, dancing, working with musicians + to build community through that work!

ABOUT ME

I am a joyful and empathetic friend, coworker, housemate, and team member. I graduated from the University of Illinois this past May, and I am now living and growing through the work, service and extra projects I do day-to-day! I fill my days with cooking at a vegan restaurant, The Red Herring, in the basement of a Unitarian Universalist community center. It's an amazing place that is radically inclusive, justice-centered, and spiritually alive. The space is always filled with art and music. I live in a housing cooperative on 2.5 acres that's home to 7 people, 16 chickens, lots of bees and bats, a small flower farm, and a modest vegetable garden. I like to spend time with my friends (on porches when the weather is friendly), play the mandolin, cook and bake for my housemates, ride my bike, practice yoga, read, play, dance, sing, and occasionally toss a good ol' frisbee. I'm currently preparing to go on tour with my dear friends and colleagues, a band called Bones Jugs N Harmony!

PHILOSOPHY

I think my greatest gift is the ability to empathize with others, and instill a sense of happiness in them. If I can make someone else happy, I feel completely fulfilled. I live life to give joy to others. In order to sustain that, I also try to practice self-love, so I do my best to prioritize my own health and happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfin' around here and there, helping out a weirdo Americana jug band of sorts, Bones Jugs N Harmony.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couch surfed with the band that I travel with in the past. It's always so wonderful to be greeted with warmth and hospitality on the road. Even a patch of floor feels nice when you're in good company.
