Helllllo! My name is Liźa! Spelt with a “z” but pronounced “Lisa.” 😉 I have been traveling around the United States for the past 2 years. I live out of a mini van. I enjoy the simple things in life. I believe you don’t need a lot to be happy and who ever tells you different has never experienced true happiness. I’m a people person. I absolutely love getting to know new people. I can be very social but on the contrary I do enjoy a day to myself every once in a while to recharge. I enjoy being places that make me feel small. I have spent days in the mountains barefoot with only my tent in the down pouring rain. I’m all about trying new things. I believe in trying everything at least once. I’m also an artist. I am a henna tattoo artist. I am also working on a few art projects. My long term goal is to display my art in various galleries around the world. I love to create. So if you host me you may be able to expect a little something creative from me :)

I began my nomadic lifestyle 5 years ago. I enjoy meeting new people and connecting to a city through the people who live there. This is the reason I love the couch surfing community so much. It has always been so much more than just a place to stay. The people I have connected with through this community have become like family to me. I enjoy hearing people’s stories and gaining new friendships.

I have worked/ stayed at hostels across the United States. I spent a year hitch hiking as my primary way of transportation. I am a full time artist. I do all types of art. Painting, inking, murals, digital art, graphic design and just recently have gotten into animations! I love telling stories through art and living in that child-like imaginative state of mind. I love coffee and wine and I also love to cook!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch-surfing to connect with like-minded people and to hear others stories. I love this community so much and like I stated above it is so much more than just a place to stay. I believe in connecting to a place through it’s people and couch surfing has always been a unique way to do that. In a world where we are seemingly becoming more and more disconnected it is refreshing to be able to talk to a complete stranger. I also believe in kindness and selflessness and I have seen those beliefs come to fruition through this community. I could go on for paragraphs about why I love couch-surfing so much but I think that pretty much sums it up.
