Overview
About Me
I'm a semi-retired teacher, soon to be an empty nester. I have traveled widely over 7 continents and want to ramp up my travels again now that my sons are launching into adulthood. I sing and play guitar and write music. I volunteer regularly with Meals on Wheels. I love to cook and bake. In my younger days I biked toured around the world and loved the freedom of that mode of travel. I am a Servas host, a Home Exchanger, and have recently begun hosting through-hikers on the Continental Divide Trail in Colorado and really love having the energy of amazing young people around.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have traveled a lot in my life and the best times are not when I'm in a fancy hotel shielded from the local culture. The truly memorable days are when I share a meal or a pint with locals and get to know the ins and outs, ups and downs of a place. I want to host others and connect with hosts while I'm traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a bluesy folk rocker, though I love any music that speaks to the heart and has a great beat or interesting vibe. I just love movies in general, though I steer away from horror. I read (or listen to) about 6 books a month across many genres. I like classic literature and indulge in epic fantasy world building series as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I biked across the Outback by myself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
You will not find me showing up empty handed. If you are welcoming me into your home, I want you to know that I appreciate it! I will help around the place and leave my area as good or better than I found it. Hopefully, we can grab or cook a meal together and you can show me your favorite out of the ordinary spots. I'm a great cook and baker. If you just want me to do my own thing, that's fine too. I would happily return the favor of your hospitality when you are in Colorado. Though I'm new to CS (Feb 2025), I host travelers on a couple of different sites (Servas & Home Exchange, Continental Divide Trail Angel) so I am not new to meeting strangers who become great friends.
