CURRENT MISSION
Same thing we do every day, Brain: take over the world
ABOUT ME
I used to be a classroom teacher, a grant writer, and a web editor. I also ran a cooperative, worked in a health-food store, and
PHILOSOPHY
I don't have a formal philosophy. I try to maintain my integrity, increase my skill set, be good to people, and have some fun. Does that count?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to formal couchsurfing, but my couch in Philly hosted untold friends-of-friends-of-friends over the years. And, occasionally, total strangers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Usually, I've hosted people (informally) sleeping on my couch. Sometimes it was awesome -- made some friends that way, lots of talk and board games and laughing. Sometimes it was quiet and low-key and good that way.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I have an enormous fondness for Jane Austen. I enjoyed *The Time Traveler's Wife,* *The Book Thief,* and *Gardening When It Counts.* The last movie I saw may have been *Splice,* which was highly weird. I like Doctor Who.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There's nothing like your first solo overnight bike trip.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can rewire a lamp, bake bread, fix most common bike problems, paint a house, patch a floor, sew, cook, improvise, train a dog, facilitate a meeting. Any of that useful or interesting?
