My name is Liz Yerby, I live in Portland, OR, but I've also lived in Louisiana and, for a short time, in Russia. I spend most of my time making art and biking around.

PHILOSOPHY

Being happy and making art are probably my biggest goals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to really use couchsurfing.com. In college I spent a lot of periods at friends houses and vice versa. I'm hoping to find some nice people to stay with and hang out with in my upcoming travels.

Interests

I do tours at a craft museum, and end up talking about art a lot in general. i really like nonfiction comic books, especially journal comics.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are: Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole, and the Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov.

I like Wes Anderson + Studio Ghibli films mostly, and listen to too much music to list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i lived in russia for three months and it was wonderful! i lot of walking around and finding wonderful secret spots, like monasteries or beautiful giant graffiti.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty fun creative person. I volunteer regularly at a publishing resource center here in portland, OR, and help people with boring stuff like photoshop, but also show people how to make shrinky dinks or a 16 page zine out of one folded sheet of paper. most of my the stuff i make is on my etsy (etsy.com/shop/lizyerby) so if you wanted to see how to make anything on there, I can definitely show you.
