About Me

I love meeting new people from anywhere in the world and learning about their lives and cultures. I do have a special interest in Latin America and Spain as I am trying to learn Spanish but I also have almost everywhere on my list to visit eventually! I have recently returned to Glasgow after living in Valencia for around 9 months. It was amazing but unfortunately quite limited in terms of meeting new people and improving my Spanish skills.... which is still very much a work in progress!

I now work in the Engineering for Global Development sector and teach English classes occasionally. When I'm not working I'll usually be visiting family, friends or out for a walk somewhere. Covid is obviously making it difficult to host at the moment, but I would love to meet up with some Couchsurfers and show people around!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet other people - make connections all over the world and host some people who are interested in seeing Scotland. Because I love Scotland!

Interests

I love cooking, reading, and I'm just getting back into my interest in politics again. I'm also really interested in sustainability, currently trying to go "zero-waste" but not quite there yet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films... A Woman Under the Influence, Trainspotting, Harold and Maude, anything with Al Pacino :D

Music... Lots of stuff! I like old 60s/70s rock and folk (The Doors, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel), but at the moment I'm mostly listening to Paolo Nutini and The Lumineers

Books... More into my non-fiction these days (I love Jon Ronson), but I have a soft spot for the old beat writers

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled Cuba by myself! Probably the furthest away solo trip I've done and it was great.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, and share some tasty vegan recipes! :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, Ireland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Spain, Sweden, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Scotland, Spain
