ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Lizzy, I'm a student studying History and love to travel in my spare time. Seeing new places, meeting new people and exploring new cultures is one of my favourite hobbies and how I fill my holidays! I'm friendly, fun and easy to get along with. I also jump at the chance to fully immerse myself in different cultures and lifestyles - which is why I think couch surfing would be a perfect opportunity to travel and learn simultaneously!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm yet to settle down and have one goal in life - at the moment I am seeing where it takes me!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couch surfing but have heard great things about it and am keen to join the travelling community on here! Unfortunately I can't host at the moment due to travelling (and studying during term time) but hope to give back and host in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A complete newbie but I'm travelling through Croatia, Italy and France this summer so hopefully will be able to fill in this section soon!

Where to begin! I'm at university studying history so that would be my obvious interest - but with that comes all sorts of branches - I love to learn about cultures, past times, different cities, people from all walks of life. I also love to read, write, and talk - but I also enjoy being outdoors and actively enjoying life.

Too many to list! In general I'm open to trying out new genres and styles - but off the top of my head, I'm into folky music like Angus & Julia Stone, love films with a simple plot but developed characters - like Garden State (although that said I can't resist a good thriller either...) and enjoy reading all the classics as well as new and upcoming novels which I'm always on the look out for!

I'm visited some amazing places - my favourite cities so far would have to be Berlin and Istanbul (I hope to add to this list!), and one of my lasting memories has been the beauty of the many Croatian islands and little sandy coves which I had the opportunity to sail and spend time around.

I read History at university so I ought to be able to teach a little about that! I'd also love to share my travelling experience with those who I meet and hopefully hear some stories back. I'm really up for learning new languages too. I speak a little French and Spanish but would love to improve them and learn more - and no better way to do that then in the country itself!
