I'm from Iowa, USA, but am living in Germany for the summer, doing research at the university in Erlangen.

I really like "experiencing" an area as opposed to just sightseeing. I like doing all sorts of new stuff and fully immersing myself in a culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm completely new to CS, but I've heard about it from a few people and thought it sounded very worthwhile!

Interests

Travel. Food. New experiences. Politics if pizza is included. Swimming.

While I don't have anything I'm extremely focused on, I enjoy being active and having meaningful conversations.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the Harry Potter series.

I enjoy most kinds of music and also have a very informal band back home. "Purple Flax". I play the harmonica.

I usually don't watch a lot of movies or TV, but I enjoy the classics, and Easy A.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The City Museum in St. Louis. It's an old shoe factory turned into a giant playground. St. Louis itself is a great place to visit. People don't give it enough credit as a tourist destination.

If you write letters while traveling, take a picture or photocopy them for your journal. Chances are, you've written about what you've seen or done.
