About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finding the occasional, spontaneous crash-space to recover from long births in SF
ABOUT ME
i know just enough about a lot of things to make me dangerous ;)
i am open, communicative, clear about and respectful of boundaries, and not afraid to do what i love and feel. i am a little introverted at times (in other words, i like to invest in people, and tend toward long-term friendships with people who want the same).
i am 25 and live in the bay area. counter to some of the trends for my demographic, i am reliable, communicative, and like to make commitments i can keep. if i can't keep a commitment, i won't make it.
my number one priority is to take good care of myself. my number two priority is everything else (living well, supporting loved ones, supporting people who are going through a tough spot, playing, loving, sharing, exploring, laughing).
PHILOSOPHY
(e)motions are meant to carry you past themselves
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i work a demanding, irregular schedule -- on-call 24/7 and sometimes attend 40+ hour long births. i'd love to connect with folks who have a quiet space where i could sleep and recover in SF after attending a long birth. i can sleep anywhere (don't need a bed at all), and through most anything, though it would be nice to have a dark-ish space that is relatively cut-off from used space (mostly so that people don't feel they need to worry about waking me/tiptoeing around the house).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
i have had many friends who've hosted surfers, and enjoy meeting new people who have a similar style/energy

Teach, Learn, Share
i enjoy connecting about what is really important to people, and i am a good emotional support person for people with whom i connect. support and listening must be reciprocal, respectful, and mutually beneficial for me to continue to want to engage.
i know a lot about computing (spreadsheets, html, database management, adobe creative suite --photoshop etc), web design, home workstation ergonomics, writing resumes/cover letters, applying for jobs, etc. i love to support people to get what they want, bring projects to life, and get past barriers like disorganization, procrastination, feeling out of control in an organization, etc.
i love to talk about birth, particularly with people who are really interested in it... i'd be especially excited if you have enough existing knowledge/free attention that you could support my processing (without me needing to "catch you up" before you can be an empathetic, supportive listener).
