Hello, my name is Denzel Lloyd. My parents are from South Africa although they've lived in the UK since their 20s but a bit of the African ways have rubbed off on me at least so I've been told... I've actually only been to south Africa for 6 months when I was a toddler but its on my bucket list to spend some time there in my adult life.

Most of my efforts up until now have been in getting myself a good career after university and I feel I have reached the point I want to within my career. What I do is work within the energy industry normally on a rotation basis. I get to go around the world and I have been some interesting places so far but at the end of the day I'm there to work and I cant take it all in the same as if I was there on my own accord.

I'm a pretty standard guy in my opinion, I like going to the gym, playing some video games and sometimes pounding a few beers at the weekend haha I am currently learning the keyboard slow as it may be but its a nice little hobbie I've stumbled upon.

Unfortunately I haven't got any friends able to or who's priorities are traveling at the moment so it would be nice to meet some people like me when I'm out exploring new places.

That's my niece in my picture by the way, she's such a little sweetheart bless her.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I'm completely new to traveling and I have very little knowledge I thought this would be the best way to get up to speed of how to do things. My plan is to go different places for 1 - 2 weeks at a time on my time off from work (I should be able to do this once a month if all goes well) and I'm sure everyone can relate that I would like to do so cost effectively and get the most out of each trip.

I'm interested in spending time with my hosts getting to know them, having a laugh, going out and seeing more than just the tourist side of wherever I may be.
