About Me

CURRENT MISSION

If only I knew... Taking each day as it comes and pretending I'm capable of making a decision that answers the inevitable question "so, what are you doing to do with your life?"

ABOUT ME

I'm 23 years old, graduated a year ago from the University of Wisconsin -- Madison and loved every minute of it. Teaching English in Southern Spain until the end of May, going on some pretty exciting travel adventures and then heading back to the good ole US of A to see where life takes me next.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the past three months, I have surfed couches throughout Germany, Prague and Spain through an incredibly diverse yet wonderful set of hosts. Though so far I have only surfed, I hope that when I am ultimately settled again i will be able to pay forward the favor and host those passing through wherever I wind up.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had nothing but great Couchsurfing experiences. Whether I am surfing with peers around my age, families with children or couples in their 70s, I have never felt anything besides genuinely welcomed into these homes. As I believe to be its most important mission, Couchsurfing has served as an incredible "intercambio" or cultural exchange for me. My hosts have taught my so much about their cultures and their lives and I can only hope that I was able to give them some interesting insight into my like in the United States and my life abroad in Spain.

Interests

small children, traveling, rugby, babies, the moment when you are teaching something and you see it click in your student's eyes, small children, trying really hard to take good pictures and most often failing, babies, eating and babies once more.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to the same song on repeat until I can't stand it anymore. A select few withstand the test of time, most notably "Fast Car," "Samson," and "Wagon Wheel." However, you can also never go wrong with Dixie Chicks, Mumford and Sons or Adele.

Love and Basketball is quite possibly the greatest movie of all time. Remember the Titans comes in at a close second. If you give me an inspirational sports movie, I will love it. Guaranteed.

I will read (almost) anything and I will read it quickly. Although initially skeptical, buying a Kindle was the best pre-Spain decision I made.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

if walking on the Great Wall of China isn't an amazing thing, I really don't know what is.

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, Germany, Peru, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, Spain, United States
