I read the news...a lot, too much perhaps. I like to know what's going on in the world. The only difficult part is separating lies from facts; the newspapers usually don't make this an easy task.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I had the privilege of attending a mass Balinese-Hindu funeral for 22 people. Actually, all of the 22 people had previously died, and were buried, at different times because the village was so poor most families could not afford individual cremations (Balinese-Hindus, according to their beliefs, must be cremated, burial is only temporary). So, the 22 corpses were dug up, hand washed in Hindu holy water by family members, anointed with offerings, and cremated together.
