ABOUT ME

Hello!

We are Lochie & Piti & we are new to CouchSurfing. Currently living in Melbourne, Australia and about to embark on a trip across the USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras & Costa Rica.

Lochie: I am a musician, producer, writer, and director at Ah!Puch!Records! An independent record label, working with a multicultural group of people, including refugees, asylum seekers, local & international musicians. I am interested in Community Development,using music as a developmental tool. I will commence a Masters in International Community Development, upon returning from travels. Piti: I am a visual, lighting and graphic designer. My experience ranges from high-end commercial businesses to smaller scale work including studios & residential projects. I have also been involved in buying/purchasing activities for an interiors & lighting company in Melbourne. Taking time out from full-time work, I'm looking forward to traveling through the Americas to find inspiration, meet new people, and share stories.

We are both neat, tidy & respectful people. We love cooking & sharing food and good times with all sorts of people! Cultural exchange is the main thing we are after - everyone has something to share, to give, to learn & to experience!

We are looking for couches & also for anyone who is interested in meeting up - for a drink, or a meal, or a walk, or a jam.

PHILOSOPHY

Piti - Being raised in a Buddhist environment had a great influence on my philosophy. I believe that everything is constantly changing and evolving. One's mind should be open & accepting to find truth.

Lochie - Music is a healing force! Nothing can be known, so don't be sure, be open!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We hope to meet local people - to gain insight in to local culture, food, music, and day to day life. We look forward to being gracious guests, visitors, and/or friends. To exchange ideas, thoughts, food, music & peace.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Lochie has met a few CouchSurfers over the years. Rodrigo was a traveling musician from Mexico. We formed a band for a few months, Coyoacan (named after his home in Mexico) We recorded at the Ah!Puch!Studio!, jammed and ended up playing one gig together.

Rafael, an Ethiopian German, was traveling around Australia. We ended up heading to a friend's farm party in the Alpine country outside of Melbourne and had some great times.

Most recently Lochie & Piti met Matt, an ex-patriot American architect, now living in Melbourne. We discussed the USA, and CouchSurfing, which he convinced us to join. Thanks Matt!
