About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding small moments of peace and quiet in the rush of day

ABOUT ME

There's lots to know about me. Here are a few things:
- I'm in LOVE with Stijn!!
- I'm a vegetarian (so I don't eat any kind of animal (no meat, fish, seafood, poultry ...), but I do eat milk and eggs)
- I'm a cat person (and an animal person in general, hence the being vegetarian)(And the cat person-thing can be interpreted quite literally, as my boyfriend would say)
- Huge Disney-fan and Tim Burton-fan
- kind, caring, empathic
- I'm a good listener
- idealistic and spiritual in my own way (I draw inspiration from bouddhism, nature philosophers, life experiences, different cultures and their believes ...)
- I'm passionate about my work. I love working with children with special needs. It requires quite some patience, energy and insight in their world, but in the end it's all so worth it. These kids have an amazing ability in sharing love!
- I express myself through dancing and singing
- I might come across as a geek when saying this, but I have always loved going to school. I love learning new things. Sign language was one of those things I just wanted to learn for fun. Hypnosis as well, but I'm still working on that :p
- I'm an art-lover. Mostly contemporary and more abstract art and architecture (e.g. the Sagrada Familia and Gaudi's work in general)
- ...

Always be true to yourself

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the very nearby future, I hope to travel and surf along the way. But my dad and I welcome surfers at our home as well when possible. You just have to ask (preferably some time in advance ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have a few experiences with couchsurfing. The first time, we (my boyfriend, his family and I) went to Germany and stayed for a few days at the home of a wonderful host. He taught us an amazing game, Dog, which we still play when on vacation! Sadly, I don't remember his name. We gave him a nickname during our stay, Fritz, and now I forgot his real name ..
The second time, we visited Sara and her friend and family in Milan (which was awesome!) and Eric and his wife in Chanoz-Chatenay, France (who were super kind and chill and caring ...).

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a lover of fantasy en sci-fi novels. I love imagining a whole different world with mytical creatures or futuristic technologies and the consequences that come with them. It makes me question things, which I find a welcome experience.
I'm a huge Disney-fan! But I'm also into the movies directed by Tim Burton. I love the 'thinking outside the box' and the 'darkness in the happiness' in his movies.
When it comes to music, I'm easy to please. Pop, R&B, Jazz, classical music, musical.. I can enjoy it all. Just don't make me listen to Techno, Drum & Base or Metal ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a difficult one. But since it's a traveling website, I'll stick with that theme: When I was about 10, we (my family and I) went on a Eurotrip. One place we visited was Gibraltar. There we met with some hairy locals who climbed up our backs, messed with our hair and tried to steal some food. That was definitely a memorable adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

- Lots of books at home to read during a stay (in Dutch or English)
- My boyfriend and I love cooking, so we might be able to cook you something or share recipes (both vegetarian and not-vegetarian)
- I love hearing about people's life stories and opinions
