About Me

Hello Couchsufers!

I come from the prairies in Canada, but my heart lives in the rocky mountains. I'm an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoy immersing myself in nature. My passion for the outdoors is pursued through my education in environmental sciences and ecology. I'm generally a timid laid back person; at least until you get a couple beers in me, and then the conversations get really interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My main goal right now is to finish my degree, but I have also come to appreciate how much more is out in the world. The adventurous streak in me wants to get out there, explore, and try new things. After spending enough summers in around Canada I have finally set my sights abroad. I'm interested in meeting both different and like-minded people who love to travel. I'm not in the best situation to host, but for anyone coming through the Canadian prairies I would be more than happy to guide, meet-up, or assist you in finding some good camping.

Interests

Mountain biking is my go to activity for the summer, but I also enjoy hiking, camping, canoeing, and cross-country skiing in the winter. I enjoy sitting back and having a good conversation hearing different peoples perspectives, especially after a long days activity.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Canada, of course.

Or at least parts of it. Canada is really big (bit of a pun), and there is so much it is extremely hard for one person to experience it all. Even if you were to just travel the trans-Canada highway (which splits in a few points) its over 7,800 km. Much of the north is also remote and hard to get to. I love my country and the vast range of unique regions it offers. I am more than happy to share my experience with what it has to offer, and a bit about or culture. Although it does seem strange to think about your own culture as foreign.

I'm here for the cultural exchange not just a free hotel.
