For the 10 years before this, I was an aid worker, writer and perpetual wanderer. I lived and worked/studied on 6 continents (no Antarctica just yet) in 60-ish countries in that time. Most of my work has been in the humanitarian sectors (Advocacy and Policy Advisor for Syria Crisis, Humanitarian Consultant, INGO Forum Representative in Nigeria, etc). I've also worked in microfinance, natural disaster response coordination and logistics, and managed a coral reef research/conservation organization in both the Philippines and Cambodia.

Love to rock climb, dive, trek, and most anything outdoors. I'm currently building a tiny house on a wheels in Portland, OR, USA, and can't wait to host couchsurfers once it's done! I suppose that's the gist...

To meet magical people and making traveling on a shoestring possible (for myself and for guests). I actually joined back in 2008 and my account got lost in 2012, and had to start from scratch. I've been around a LONG time :)
