A college friend and I will be passing through Denver and need a place to stay the night of May 2nd. We are both 24 years old. I am a current teacher and my friend is travelling to New Mexico to begin working for Teach For America.

ABOUT ME

A college friend and I will be passing through Denver and need a place to stay the night of May 2nd. We are both 24 years old. I am a current teacher and my friend is traveling to New Mexico to begin working for Teach For America. My friend just finished a year working on a desert research station in Gobabeb, Namibia. We can dazzle you with tales of the African heartland or unruly middleschoolers. We are both extremely neat, clean, friendly, curious non-smokers and are happy to learn and talk about music, movies, sports, politics, international relations, the road and life. Growing up my family hosted many people in our home and we were displaced from our home in New Orleans for six months following Hurricane Katrina. This experience combined with my mother's constant instructions on Southern manners means I understand the importance of being a good guest. I am a go-to housesitter among parents' friends and adhere to the Boy Scout ethic of leaving a site better than I found it.

My friend is driving from Chicago and we're meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. We have friends at every stop along the way to New Mexico except in Denver and are looking for a place to crash for the night.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This will be my first formal experience with CouchSurfing. I have never surfed or hosted, though I have many friends that have done both and enjoyed it immensely. I have played host to CouchSurfers at social events but never in my home. I believe my friend has limited experience both hosting and surfing, though he is currently on the road right now so I'm in charge of setting up and managing this account (and hopefully finding a couch!).

I spent a college semester studying in Rome and living with an Italian family. Perhaps not the most "amazing" but very significant for me.

I'm currently learning Arabic and speak conversational Italian. I can give you my opinion on New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina, which most people I meet seems to be interested in. I'm a decent cook and spent a semester in Rome. I love to play basketball. I know good amount about nuclear weapons and nonproliferation.
