Recently having graduated from Media Studies in university, I moved to Stockholm, Sweden for my job. Right now I'm living in Cape Town, South Africa.
I love food just as much as I love meeting new people. Actually, the two goes hand in hand quite often when over having meals with someone. Travel is a huge passion in my life - to roam endlessly, see new horizons, experience different cultures, and meet strangers on the way. Currently, at the age of 23, I've travelled to 53 different countries.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

My first time ever couchsurfing was in Stockholm, Sweden. It was one of the best times of my life - truly a new way of travel for me as well as making awesome new friendships. Ironically, I ended up moving there and living in Stockholm. To this day my host is one of my closest friends (Hey Klas!). Ever since then I love couchsurfing to connect with different locals and people from all over the world.

I love cooking and food - it's a universal language that we speak on a daily basis. It's how someone is usually first introduced into a culture, an experience. It can be a beautiful shared experience or a way to self-heal oneself.

I also love sailing, being out on the water - in a boat, is one of the most relaxing yet thrilling experiences. The sun on your skin and the wind in your hair. I usually spend my summers out on a lake sailing in the Austrian alps. Oh, and hiking is a fun way to explore nature too. Nature is one of the best things in life that always makes me feel grounded and reenergize.

Another huge passion of mine is photography. This goes hand in hand with everything - as I love documenting an adventure and telling a story through photographs. Let's take pictures together?

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Backpacking around East and Southern Africa. What a continent!
Hiking through the jungle of the Congo with three armed AK-47 guards to make it to the top of one of the most active volcanos in the world was one of the scariest and epic adventures I've had.
Sneaking into Burkina Faso from Ghana without a passport was cool. Riding a camel in the Sahara Desert of Morocco then camping overnight in the desert out under the stars was a beautiful time too. There was also a week-long safari trip in Tanzania where I got to see the Big Five as well as a cheetah hunting down a gazelle and devouring it in front of our jeep.

Two and a half years after recovering from a blood clot in my leg and lungs that was almost fatal - I got to spend a week camping and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Making it to the mountain's summit on the 5th day at sunrise was one of the most physically and mentally challenging yet beautiful experience I've ever accomplished.
