ABOUT ME

I grew up on a farm in Northern Michigan and just finished my degree in Urban Studies at Vassar College in New York. I am very laid back and can find an interest in nearly everything I experience. I love meeting new people, taking spontaneous adventures, learning about my weaknesses, sharing my strengths, recording my journey, and trying to notice the little things I sometimes take for granted.

PHILOSOPHY

I am excited to be young and I will be excited to be old. Every stage of life is an adventure.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've really enjoyed the opportunity to meet up with couchsurfers around Europe and host a few while living in New York.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfted with a friend in Berlin and Paris last fall and had a really great experience. We met so many amazing people and hosted one of our hosts when she came to New York City. I feel very strongly about the couchsurfing concept and believe it is another small way that we can continue to build a sense of global community.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

My boyfriend (at the time) was going on a trip to Paris, and I didn't have a lot of money at the time, so I wasn't able to join him. Or that's what I told him anyway. Instead, I hitchhiked from Copenhagen to Paris to surprise him. With the help of our mutual friend I arranged a cafe where we could meet. It was quite a cute surprise! And hitchhiking was a life changing experience. I learned so much about myself and the unconditional kindness of strangers.

I did a solo hike to the Dragon Lakes in Northern Greece. Spent the night there and could not fall asleep because of how beautiful it was! It was the quietest place I've ever been and I learned so much about myself that night as I lay under the full moon and a canopy of stars.

I'm always excited to learn new languages and to learn to cook new dishes. I'm sure I could teach you a few tricks in the kitchen, as well.
