About Me
Hi! I'm Lois.
I’ve packed up the essentials (bike, tent, coffee maker) and am cycling my way across Europe on my bike. Until recently I’ve been living in Manchester and working on climate change policy.
I am a laid back person and always ready to listen to new ideas - I love a good debate, good food, and the occasional challenge to keep me on my toes :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Back in 2016/2017 I travelled around Europe for 2 months and used Couchsurfing to meet people and share great experiences along the way. It was unforgettable and just the best way to learn about the places I visit and the people who live there. I’ve also been a host and loved having the chance to show off my hometown and offer a comfy place to rest up. Now I’m on the road again, I’m ready to rekindle my love for the Couchsurfing community <3
Interests
I am food obsessed and love to try new and delicious (and weird!) foods. I also enjoy cooking for friends - sitting around over a great meal and drinks is one of my favourite ways to spend an evening.
Live music is my other true love, and I go to a lot of gigs. I can also be found mooching around art galleries, jogging in the sunshine, and knitting lumpy jumpers.
I care about politics, the environment, land justice, food systems, and making life better for the people around me. I am always interested to learn new ideas and skills!
And cycling, of course!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I listen to a mishmash of things, and love good old-fashioned radio as a way to discover new sounds (BBC6, NTS and FIP are my regular rotation). Always open to new recommendations!
Movies - I recently loved The Boy and the Heron, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Past Lives... will watch anything that’s not a million hours long and has great cinematography (and isn't too scary)
Books - I love to read essays, novels where nothing much happens, and things that make my brain hurt…
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took a 5000-mile road trip from Plymouth to the Gambia in West Africa, raising over £2000 for charity - it was an incredible adventure through 8 beautiful countries.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like using my hands to make and fix things, and love swapping skills. I can teach you how to knit, mend clothes, cook/bake, ride a bike ;) I’m also up for giving things a go if there is anything that you want to share in return - be that food, a new language, or a favourite book.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am traveling light but can offer conversation, cook dinner and swap music recommendations. Can also promise entertainment in the form of my very rusty French and German skills.
