About Me

I'm a very easy going person who loves traveling and meeting people from other cultures! People usually describe me as a trustworthy and funny person. I can be a bit messy sometimes but I'm working on it :). I love helping people when I have the occasion and I love making new experiences. I also have lost of humor and self-mockery

"You're never too old to make new experiences. Life is definitely too short for that!"

I'm currently studying political sciences in the Netherlands at the University of Maastricht which has such an international framework. I meet people from everywhere which are happy to talk about there own countries and traveling experiences. This just pushed me to travel even more further.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was always interested in traveling. When I was 17, I traveled in the US for a year to learn English and I've had the chance to meet amazing people with who I stayed in good contact. This year I'm going back in the US to visit friends and I have to spend two nights in New York. One of my friends told me about couhsurfing and I loved the concept so this is the reason why I registered. The concept definitely fits my way of thinking. I think that in order to learn about the country, culture, city you're in; the best way is to stay with a local. And since I'm a student with little means and doing small trips, this is the perfect way!

Interests

I'm interested in languages and politics (but I'm also very critical about politics - I'm not a big defender and idealist haha). What I love the most is having people's opinion on the different (and maybe common) experiences they (we) had. I always think that I can always learn so much from people and get different views and opinions.

I love music, parties, traveling and visiting (for sure), painting, theater, big debates about the world, learning about new cultures

loose myself when walking in new cities, learn the weirdest words in new languages, meeting people, unexpected (good) events/moments/parties (they are always the funniest), hang out with friends, meeting people I know or from the same city in a foreign country

--> I have many other interests but that would be too long to write (don't hesitate to ask or let's just meet!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled a year in the US at 17 and participate at Model United Nations which are simulations, academic competitions between students to approach actual societal problems and learn about diplomacy and the UN

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm Belgian who lives at the border of Germany and the Netherlands so I can teach you a lot about the Belgian/French culture and a bit about the Dutch and German culture :)! I can cook the typical dishes but I'm not the most wonderful cook haha. I'm studying European Studies and I'm doing so in an international framework so if you have question about the European Union I can definitely help you.

I can try to teach French and I'm very enthusiastic about learning on other cultures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can try to cook traditional Belgian/Liégeoise dishes and I'm open to talk critically about my countries and Europe - not an idealist and not a hater either :). I'm very respectful and clean after myself
