About Me

ABOUT ME

PHILOSOPHY

I believe peace an happiness are available in any given moment and that the only way we value ourselves is by recognizing the values of others. Your mind is the most powerful tool you will ever have and as within, so without.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My traveling would only begin next year (2010) as I'm finishing off my studying. I've never used Couch-surfing before but I'm hoping to make some good contacts whether it be to travel or just to talk! I want to have some good moments that change my life or help change some other lives and to keep growing.

Interests

I love playing my guitar and singing, screaming along to old classic songs and funky dance moves :), drawing, taking photographs, positive energy and beautiful people who have interesting things to say and do, Having no expectations for the night or day and then having the most amazing moment of meeting someone new or hearing an amazing band or artist, old objects, the 60's, tea OR a good glass of red wine, music, road trips :) jhembi drumming, crunchy apples, crazy faces, finding something you've lost (It's such a nice surprise), hearing old stories, laughing till your tummy hurts, falling asleep happy, all the wonders of the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2008 I ventured to Bulungula, one of the most remote and rural villages in South Africa in the Transkei. For what the community lacked in wealth, they made up for in their kind, welcoming and abuntu driven lifestyles. I was blown away by the friendliness and and shared eagerness to communicate to one another even though there was a strong language barrier. I helped to build a school there and supply them with some essentials like books, pens and paper. I witnessed a Sangoma ceremony (traditional Xhosa Healers) which was something so empowering it will never fade from my memories. I stayed in an Eco friendly lodge that worked on a trust system. The area is so incredibly breathtaking. The green hills remained untouched besides the scattered rondavels and strolling cows and i really resonated with the environment! Being away from western civilization and technology was a great change :) It truly change my life and I plan on going back this year!
