About Me

surf, host, party!

I'm supernice, really funny and NOT crazy. Just kidding, I'm pretty crazy. I like to laugh, about bad jokes, other people, myself, you and bad weather. And I absolutely LOVE music.

--- 99% of the requests I get are awefully boring, all write the same copy&past messages! So if you are the ONE person that writes a personal request your chances to get hosted by me will be dramatically increased! ---

My name is actually Lorenzo NOT Lomanx!

Some tips for the CS newbies out there:

- Address the person you're writing to with his/her real name. You'll normally find the real name in the references. This indicates that you actually looked closer at their profile and not only read the first line.

- Make references to their profile. Focus on similarities. Mention why you want a meet the person you are adressing. This shows that you have actually read their profile and that you want to get to know the person you are staying with and that you're not just a freeloader who is looking for a free place to stay.

- Make sure that your profile implies enough information. And not only some phrases. Take my profiles as a reference! For sure it doesn't have to imply that much information, but I think you've got the idea...

- Make sure that you have photos (more than one or two) on your profile where people can see your face.

- If you are writing a request for more than one person, make sure to include the links to the other people's profiles in your request. If your friend doesn't have a Couchsurfing profile, he/she has to create one and fill it out before you send me the request. (Mainly) for security reasons I do not host people without profile.

Since I had quite a few problems recently with people cancelling the couch last minute recently:

If you cancel the couch at short notice without mentioning a good reason, I will write you a negative reference.

If you change the dates of your arrival on short notice, I will most probably not be able host you.

I make my plans around the dates I'm hosting, so reliability is very important for me. After all, I'm hosting people for free at my apartment, so considering the comfort you are having when you are staying at my place is comparable with a room that you would have to rent for about 30 €/night. So basically I'm giving you 30 € a night, even I don't know you before. I could also rent out my room on AirBnB, then I would probably get about 150 € a week. But I decided to do couchsurfing, because I like the idea and I love to meet new people. But I expect my guests to be grateful and to show their gratefulness by either cooking for me, helping with the housework, bringing some small souvenir or in any other way. Unfortunately most of the people I hosted don't do any of those things, so I hope it will improve after I wrote this here.

ENERGY! That's what I have and what I expect you to have, if you want to surf my couch. If you are a couch potato, expect me to kick your ass! There's no lazy sit around, get out and experience Villach!

If you are radio-active or at least pretty (active)
write me a CRAZY request, mentioning at least one wacky detail from my profile! A poem would be also nice. There will be a prize for the person with the best poem.

PS Copy and pastas will be declined without explanation. BASTA.

PPS That's me (the orange guy)
