About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to explore and experience life as much as it is possible!

ABOUT ME

My name is Olga and I came from city in the north of Poland – Gdansk. I am very strongly connected with this city. Almost whole my life I was studding in the main city, and I never feel home when I am back after a travel, until I get there to walk around. I have this feeling especially now when I leave in the other city in other country. I have one younger sister that is still in high school and she is best sis I could imagine!
WHERE AM I NOW
At the moment I am in the middle of my Erasmus exchange program. I live and study in Milan in Italy. I live in a flat near to Politecnico di Milano, campus Leonardo. I have three flat mates: one polish girl from my home city and two American girls. One of Americans is originally from India, the other from Dominican Republic. Unfortunately, for now, we have so many guests from our countries and we are travelling so much that is impossible for us to host anyone more. Anyway, U can try to write to me, and if U are extremely lucky it would turn out that, we can host U! ;)
WHAT I DO
I study architecture. This is my third year of studies. I am rather in this topic, I like what I do for now but I am still not sure if it is what I want to do in the future! Actually, when I arrived to Milan I realized how many possibilities life offers and I still don’t know which path is mine!

PHILOSOPHY

I hate feeling of loosing time. If I do sth I wanna to do it fast (to have time to start new things) and good!

Interests

ANY HOBBIES?
Si, certo! I love sports. But doing them- not watching in TV (ok, sometimes yes). When I was younger I used to play tennis for 9 years. Then in middle school and high school I was playing basketball. Then I started rock-climbing and that is what I like now. Since I was six, every winter I ski and additionally I took off snowboarding four years ago. I also windsurf every summer since I was 11 and I would love to try kite surfing one day. The is about sports.
I love reading. I used to read a lot but since I started studies I don’t have so much time anymore. Moreover I feel like trying so many new things that for now I almost gave it up and I feel a bit guilty about that.
I love art. I totally admire beauty. Galleries, parks, museums, different types of architecture, artistic events, street artists. Actually I can imagine myself traveling and exploring the beauty for the rest of my life. (Just to make it clear: there are different types of beauty that can be affected by different factors – at least that is how I understand it!)
I love meeting new people. OK, it hard to call it “hobby”, but as I make international course now and meet them really A LOT, I found it very inspiring. Everyone has his/her own story, inspirations, ambitions. People are very creative. In Poland, architecture students work mostly alone. In Italy everything is group work! Products of group work are incomparably better in my opinion. We are considering and exchanging so many ideas!
TRAVELING
Actually it is a hobby but I think it deserves a special section. I am traveling since I was really little thanks to my parents. Since couple of years I am traveling alone or with my friends, and two years ago with my boyfriend we discovered couchsurfing. We made a month trip through France, Spain and Portugal and were lucky to be hosted by really amazing people that made us experience the sites we visited in new way. Moreover, since I left Poland to spend 12 months in different country, for the first time I understood how much tourists miss when they spend only couple of days in one place. Of course, it is impossible to avoid that, but it can be mineralized by spending time with locals (f. ex. Couchsurfers) !

Music, Movies, and Books

When I am tired and I want to have fun I watch movie, when I want something more ambitious I read a book. The outcome is that I read better books than I watch movies but I watch more movies lately – actually when give a second thought to it, it is NOT good! :/ I like music. But that’s all - I am not a great fun (my boyfriend is, so I have some knowledge about it – he’s much better). I like parties, listening to it what I do sth nice. But when I have to focus and work I need silence!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I do ERASMUS exchange now in Italy. I was in Thailand last summer - that was totally amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach stuff about art – understanding, interpretation, putting into context. I can offer knowledge about surviving in the forest (was working on summer camps witch children), basics of rock-climbing, painting, drawing.
