ABOUT ME

I am a very distracted person, I really think that with the years my attention it’s getting more and more filtered. The problem is that when I am really paying attention it surfaces in me what north Americans call "bitchy resting face", so when I meet people randomly hanging out sometimes they don’t get a good first impression of me, my accidental scowl and somber expression sabotages first impressions of me, so nope, I’m not good with first impressions. Later when you get to know me you have a more complete and awesome picture of myself, if you’re an open minded person with a good sense of humor and your own ideas you will have the best of me and you’ll learn that my smile, though not my default, is 100% genuine when it surfaces.

I am a very passionate person with everything I love, with my friends, studies, ideologies, and with my way of seeing life. I really don´t like routine, I mean, I know we all need it in some way, but a high level of routine in my life can make me anxious and unhappy. That’s why I love travelling so much, it gives so many different perspectives and it also proves how much we need to keep in touch with common sense in order to understand other ways of living. If I know only one way of living I figure I'll be a sitting duck sooner or later.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, surfing, activities, etc. Right now Im working on my dissertation, despite all the work I have, whenever I can, I seek the opportunity to escape and fill my need to see the world and meet interesting people with experiences to share.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only been a member for 5 months and already met a lot of brilliant people that I wouldn't have met otherwise.
I think the idea of letting friendly strangers come into your house while you cook/ get to know each other / show them around is a beautiful thing.

Interests

I am very interested in everything related to Psychology and Education like cognitive processes, language disorders, language comprehension, intervention research, intervention programs, learning disorders, autism, Psychotherapy, Education systems in different countries.

I also like to read about music, modern art, photography, cooking... Have coffee, wine or beer with friends, go dancing, watch interesting movies or read an amazing book.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I love to exchange points of view about my fields which are psychology and education. I know a lot about cognitive processes and other functions of the mind. I also love art and know quite a bit about it, I have read a lot about modern art and admire artists like Picasso, Klimt, Schiele, Dalí, Miró, Monet, etc. Right now I am taking photography classes and I would like to learn more about it.

I love cooking and I am always learning new recipes from other countries, I can also teach some recipes from my country as well. Im not an expert but I also like to dance, mostly salsa and merengue so I can teach you some moves. And I sing quite well I can not teach you that but I can sing for you if you want ;)
