About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Five of us have purchased 62 acres recently. We are hoping to do many things there, currently we are building a log cabin community building which is our first building on the land. In the future we plan on planting a food forest there and also including some annual gardens and possibly some sheep.
ABOUT ME
I'm very laid back. I like to spend most of my time in nature but also enjoy myself when I find myself in the city, as long as I don't stay too long. I would consider myself kind and gentle and think that people that know me would say so too.
Lately I've been building things out of natural materials and will probably continue doing more of that. I found I like living in houses made like this and it's a really fun process too. I'm also looking to get some land with some friends in the near future, where we'll try growing our food through permaculture concepts.
PHILOSOPHY
To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I co-hosted many couchsurfers with my roommate in Oregon. Some stayed a night or 2, some have stayed a while, some I've started an organization together called thePOOSH.org and some have become lifelong friends.
Interests
I enjoy living outside. I've probably slept in a tent about half my nights in the last 2 years. Activities I enjoy include backpacking, rock climbing and back country skiing. I love music, unfortunately I don't play anything but hopefully I will in the future. I actually just built a gimbri, will get the strings in a couple days and will start playing. I'm also in to sustainable building. My friends and I built the house we lived in for the winter out of used car tires and other recycled materials. I've also worked on a couple more houses using natural materials in the last year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Life and Nature
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a really good skier, so I could teach who how to ski or ski better. I built a house with only hand tools and limited resources, not a professional yet but a good deal of valuable knowledge.
