Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm Lorenz. I was brought up in New York City and am relatively new to traveling. I'm an undergraduate student at George Washington University in Washington DC and currently an exchange student at Waseda University in Tokyo where I study International Relations and Japanese. 日本語もOK!!!
I am conversational in Japanese and I always love getting more practice in; I suck at reading though :) I love movies, music, and dancing but I've been told that my interests are strangely varied. I am a competitive ballroom dancer so I'm always looking to explore a new place's dancing scene.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's the people that make a place special. That's why I want to meet lots of people in a lot of different places! It would be nice if I could form lasting bonds with the people I meet on here. That's way more memorable to me than any sightseeing destination.
I want to learn all about the way people are and why, about how we shape and are shaped by the people and places we've encountered. I also just want to experience more of life, get out of what's become comfortable, and see what else there is in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a very wide variety of things! I like most music genres except American country :P
I'm a big fan of period films but I also like most everything.
I haven't had the chance to read much for leisure since I started college but I enjoy classic novels. I also really like Jojo's Bizarre Adventures :D

I've spoken at the UN General Assembly Hall in New York City!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you English if you teach me a little about your language! :)
If you can read kanji, I'd love to work on that too.
I can also teach you how to ballroom dance! Or salsa, bachata, zouk, if you prefer!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Bits and pieces of American culture! I also like to bake so maybe some baked goods brought from home ;)
