Overview
About Me
I'm a mechanical engineering student. My interests vary a lot - but that's not a news here. I'm also a tour guide, so I can enjoy a conversation (sometimes having something to say, but most of the time learning from others) ranging from science to art history, from music to technology.
Dry-witted, when unrestrainedly sincere.
Almost self-annoyingly active, it is easier for me to walk miles in the cold than sitting somewhere cozy drinking a pint.
I like sports & even watching them sporadically. I can enjoy - mostly - hearing about that though.
I try to follow current-affairs to a certain extent. When it comes to politics, I like, once again, listening to arguments - I dislike fighting about that. I tend to ask more question about an opinion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm quite fixed in Rome, since I work & study... I really miss travelling, so it would be great to speak languages I don't speak normally, use words that I don't repeat times & times over during the day. To be brief, everyone here knows how fantastic is to talk to people who are travelling, you feel nomadic too, for a while.
I'm a professional tour guide; hopefully, it might be also interesting for a visitor to have a chat with me. I promise I won't get boring with all the history that sprouts from every inch in Rome.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like verbose books, from Mary Shelley to Virginia Woolf. I do enjoy Shakespeare. Dostoevsky is surely enticing - as much as Gogol is hilarious. Dante is a quotable evergreen. I can read quite anything that has a decent plot.
Technical literature can be engrossing too.
As for classical music, I enjoy it passionately. Opera has to be either genuinely tragic or unwillingly farcical. I love ballet as long as the dancers stay in character and make the play artistically plausible.
I'm picky on movies, I tend to watch the french (or french-y) films; I get quite curious about biopics too. But, after all, it's the actors and the director that drag me to the cinema.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I cycled through France for 40 days, that is where I was told to be bold and knock on other people's doors.
Teach, Learn, Share
I hardly think I can teach, just as much as I believe that nobody really teaches (successfully), but she or he shows an example. It becomes instructive only if the other person is willing (& therefore able) to extract the lesson for her/himself.
