About Me

Hi! My name is Lorenzo and I'm 26. I'm an Italian PhD student in engineering living in Torino and I love my town.

I love travelling and I have started doing it since I was 6. Travelling is not going from a place to another but it's meeting new people, discover different cultures and learn new languages ... and if you are lucky it's the best way to make new friends for life.
I believe that the best way to travel is to spend time with local people who can share with you a real and genuine experience of the place where they live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my junior year in high school, I spent a whole year in Hawaii as an AFS exchange student. It was a changing life experience. I lived in a family and I could appreciate their hospitality. Since then, I started an amazing relationship with them and I'm still in contact.

Due to this experience, I have hosted myself other students. I made new friends that are all over the world. Time to time it's nice to get in touch with them...host and be hosted. For this reason, I decided to take part of Couchsurfing!

I believe that the true nature of a country can't be experienced through tourism. It can only be truly experienced by doing what locals do... and Couchsurfing has made this possible!

Interests

I love to hang out with my friends. I also like to practice all kind of sports: in particular basketball, soccer, surf, skiing, sailing, hiking and running. Every kind of outdoor activities...
