About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Still exploring Berlin
Planning a trip to Vietnam/Cambodia

ABOUT ME

I am a literature student in Berlin, Germany. After living in London for half a year I moved to Avignon for an ERASMUS semester before finishing my Bachelor's in Bremen. With this small but versatile city as a base, I travelled to the US, the Caribbean, Morocco and a few more places that I really enjoyed visiting. Now that I am finishing my MA in Berlin, I didn't travel too much for a while but tried to get to know the city instead. The travel bug came back a few months ago, though, and I can't wait to plan a trip and get to know new things and people!

PHILOSOPHY

Anything I'd write here would sound hipsterish/obnoxious. So I just go with 'have fun!'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I guess, Couchsurfing is a bit like hitchhiking. You have to trust your gut feeling about a person you don't know and you have to remind yourself that the world isn't all that bad :) I like that Couchsurfing helps to create a world with a bit less mistrust between people.
On a more egoistical side, it is great to stay with people that know the place you're visiting. You're feeling at home immediately and might visit places you'd never seen if you hadn't stayed with locals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met friends on Couchsurfing that I stayed in touch with and that inspired me to do or be certain things, an experience I would never want to miss.
Some people I only met for a day or a few hours but I still feel that every experience was worth it and taught me something.
Although it certainly helps budget-wise, I feel Couchsurfing is definitely not about the money but about getting to know a place through its people.

Interests

I would claim that it is quite easy to interest me in things. Activities and experiences that influenced me for a while after mostly were outdoor adventures like hiking, kayaking, surfing or just a simple camping trip. I do enjoy a cosmopolitan setting as well and love going to clubs, raves, flea markets and interesting restaurants.

I also really like reading and listening to music (or even playing myself for that matter (the ukulele)).

Other than that... I could list things like cooking, movies, sports and traveling of course but I guess that's self-evident ;)
