About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To fully experience each and every moment in life, to live in the present, to love without hesitation
ABOUT ME
I am a small town girl who grew up riding horses, growing our own food, camping, hiking, and living a pretty relaxed life. Now I live in the capitol of the US and have accustomed myself to the city life, which I am loving! When I'm not working, I enjoy making pottery, doing yoga, reading, hiking, theater, hanging out with my friends, and playing with my dog.
PHILOSOPHY
Love one another. Be good.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By hosting as many couchsurfers as possible!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had some amazing experiences with couchsurfing on my last trip to Europe (my first surfing experience). I met so many wonderful people and knowing someone who lived in the areas I was traveling in made me feel very comfortable. My theory about couchsurfing after this trip--instant friends, just add couch!!!
I love taking people out when I have the time, and showing them my favorite places in DC. I love to meet new people and share stories, and I love the idea of making this great big world smaller by connecting to others across the globe.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Poetry by Pablo Neruda and Dorothy Parker, stories of African refugees (they make my troubles seem so small), memoirs of fabulous independent women, currently am reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath which is just beautiful!
Music: All kinds, but jazz and funk, folk rock, and indie rock are my favorite genres. Any sort of live music--especially live jazz and blues--gives me goosebumps!
Movies: foreign films grab my interest more than any others, but I find something to love in almost any movie I watch. My favorite movies are: The Big Lebowski, Amelie, The Princess Bride, Kill Bill, The Lives of Others, The Best of Youth, and many many more! I love Audrey Tatou, Pedro Almodovar, Johnny Depp, the Coen Brothers, and Quentin Tarantino.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watched a shuttle launch from the VIP seating area at Kennedy Space Center in Florida
Saw the Trevi Fountain at night in the rain, with no other tourists around--only the Polizia to make sure I didn't go swimming!
Teach, Learn, Share
Take the time to really, thoroughly enjoy life. This is it, it's all we've got (as far as any of us know for sure). Every minute of every day has something special in it for us, so even when you are walking to work along the same route every day, be sure to take notice of the new flower buds, the softness of the breeze on your face, the warmth of the sun on your back, the smell of your coffee, the sound of your feet hitting the bricks. Don't take the ordinary things you do for granted, or ignore them completely, waiting for extraordinary events to happen to you. Make each moment an extraordinary one and live a tremendous life.
