About Me

Hi! I'm Lottie, and I'm a 20 year old student living in Nottingham for the summer. I study English Literature at Newcastle University and am starting my third and final year there in September. Yes, it's a lot of reading, but I love it! I blog a lot and am really interested in social culture and the like and one day I hope to transfer that blog into newspaper print, if I should be so lucky... I love reading and am a bit of a film nut when it comes to random trivia and useless behind the scenes trivia, so it's weird I pride myself on that kind of information!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Me and two other friends are travelling to Honduras, Central America, and have been recommended this site as a reliable way to find people we can trust to put us up for a bit while abroad. I hope we find someone, it could really help us out in terms of finances but it'd also give a nice comfortable vibe to our travelling, like we had really been thrown into the mix.

Interests

I enjoy reading more than anything (typical Lit student) and read a lot of thriller/crime/fantasy when I'm not being forced to nosedive into the classics at uni. I used to play a lot of netball and I miss it a lot, but I still get to the gym regularly and play a lot of badminton so I'm not too pained about it. As I've already said, I'm a film buff but I love learning new and unorthodox things about absolutely anything, primarily in nature and animals. I blog a lot about social issues and hope these articles will take me somewhere one day, and Netflix is probably my best friend.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music goes through phases. One minute I can be mellowing out to Bon Iver, then jiving to Beyonce, then throwing myself around to Fall Out Boy. I like any genre and am fairly universal in that! Movies are the greatest things if they're thrillers or prod you into thinking, like Shutter Island or Forrest Gump. Sad to say, but I know nearly all the words to Batman Dark Knight and DK Rises... When I'm not reading the classics at university I read a lot of fantasy, as I'm a bit of an escapist.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Obviously, any form of household maintenance I'd be happy to help with, I think that's only fair. Cooking, cleaning, favours, running errands, general helping out is what I think is only fair when sharing someone's living space and they've put themselves forward for you. Any form of help I can give, I'll be happy to give it! I'd love to strike up a friendly relationship with our host too, so that if we go out for a meal the host would feel more than welcome to come along with us.
