CURRENT MISSION
Returning to a place I like to call "home"
ABOUT ME
After spending years trying to fit into the mold, I came to the conclusion that I'm too much of a nomad to stay in one place for too long. I thrive on doing new things and meeting new people. When I'm home, I love to meet travelers and tour them around.
A lot of my free time is spent stretching and pretzeling in my faux-yoga kind of way... Partly because I love feeling balanced, but mostly because I sometimes secretly wish I could run away with Cirque Du Soleil. I love dive bars, cooking (especially when there's someone else around to enjoy it), and general tomfoolery. I'll answer to the names Lotus, Roze and occasionally, girl with the cool tattoos…
It's been suggested that I should be followed around with a camera as I have a tendency to attract some entertaining characters, which of course leads me into a lot of really fun and interesting adventures during my travels...
PHILOSOPHY
Live the life you love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by being present. And, helping where needed :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had my first official experience as a couch surfer recently when I went to Honolulu for a job interview. My hosts were so incredibly amazing! My first night there, I had managed to forget which bus took me back home and after a long (and slightly stressful) adventure, I finally found my host's house. When I walked in, the house was warmly illuminated with soft light, The Beatles were playing "O Bla Di O Bla Da" on the i-pod and there was a note left for me offering some fresh food and much Aloha. I just about melted with joy!
Over the years, I've had a lot of people land on my couch. Though it has never been a formal "couch surfing" experience, I have always had the philosophy that the more you can do to enrich other people's lives, the more your own life will be enriched. I've traveled all over the United States, and met some truly wonderful people. Now it's time for me to start working on a plan to see the rest of the world.
