i'm Lou, originally from England but been living in Bangkok for the past 5 years or so

BKK is dope and i love living there but city fatigue is real therefore whenever the opportunity arises i love hopping around SEA for a change of pace. one day i'd also like to go back to Europe and travel around or even explore the Americas but it's kinda far you know?

most of the time i travel alone which can be fun but also boring at the same time, it's a fine line. i've been getting into hitchhiking and volunteering a lot more recently, especially in 2023 once covid finally finished and the borders opened up, i decided to quit my job and go travelling again.
i hitchhiked from tokyo to kyushu and then did a loop around from kitakyushu to fukuoka. i also hitchhiked a loop around the whole of taiwan, and while in japan and south korea i volunteered at a hostel and also worked with an international meet up group as an organiser. nowadays i'm pretty good at socialising with all types of people, which is ironic cause i used to be very introverted when i was in univeristy

i've stayed in hotels and hostels tons of times before, and couchsurfing has always been more enjoyable, even just staying in the homes of people who picked me up while hitchhiking have been some of my most memorable experiences. nowadays, i think i'd rather sleep on a park bench than stay at a hotel (dont tell my mom)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

big fan of both music and movies, not so much books however i have some interest with poetry and mythology

as for music, a lot of rock, punk, hiphop, edm - i love sharing music with people and going out in bkk to watch live music or dance

movie directors i'm fond of include linklater, scorsese, kubrick, coens, scott, tarantino. a lot of old and gritty stuff, but also coming of age stuff like dazed and confused and boyhood
