Hi, I am Louisa! ☀️

I currently live and study in Heidelberg, Germany. I am the happiest when I am hiking, especially in the mountains. I think there is no better way of feeling "tired" than after a whole day out in the nature and with lofts of fresh air. I like to go swimming in the mornings and I am delighted at any occasion to go ice bathing. Cinnamon buns and waffles warm my heart, that is why I try to make them as often as possible. In addition to my studies of political science and geography, I am very active in the field of peace education and political education. I have taught karate to children and teenagers for many years and have a black belt myself - if you would like to learn some self-defense techniques, I'd be happy to do so.

I am grateful for the possibility to explore all the beautiful places. Last year I spent a couple of months in Sweden through my studies and was fortunate to explore all the beautiful landscapes. But I love coming back home too - best thing is, spending time with my family and loved ones, and sit down for a coffee in my favourite café.

I started with couchsurfing because I believe there is no better thing in mind growing and self development than meeting new people with different mindsets, different experiences and from different backgrounds with open hearts.
There is a South African philosophy - “ubuntu” - it means that there is connection between all of us and the aim should be to live respectfully, generously and lovingly with one-another - and not in isolation, just for ourselves.
I would like to get to know you, the person sitting in front of me, your home, your country, your culture, your thoughts about life, even when there are only a couple of minutes/hours together.

Movies: Disney and Pixar movies! And I love scenic movies with breathtaking shots from landscapes and nature.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Besides bungee jumping at Tsitsikama National Park and enjoy living in Cape Town with all its diversities, I deeply enjoyed exploring the northern countries in Europe: Studying in Stockholm, travelling through Norway by train, Workaway in Bergen, and definitely experiencing northern lights on Lofoten islands, Norway, and near Inari, Finland.

I would love to learn more craft-related things and I am always interested in local (veg.) dishes!
Some day I wanna learn how the paraglide :D
