ABOUT ME
My name is Louise! I’m originally from Lund in the south of Sweden where I grew up with my mum, dad and younger brother. Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated by other cultures and their history, meeting new people and exploring new places. Fortunately I share my passion with everyone in my family and growing up we took every given opportunity to travel. We would go on summer holidays in southern Europe, ski in the north of Sweden and go on weekend trips to London or Paris. So when I graduated from gymnasium (Swedish version of high school) back in 2011 naturally I wanted to travel more, by myself, and explore the rest of the world.
It all started with a road trip from Sweden to Albania in July 2011. I was one of seven volunteers. We didn’t know each other from before we just all happened to have signed up for the same volunteer job in Albania. TAMAM, the organisation we were going to work for had provided us with a minivan and tents. Our goal was to get to Albania where we were going to work on a summer camp for children. We had two weeks to get there and it was an absolutely amazing trip. In a car with no AC and parts falling off every now and then we went and visited the less travelled parts of Europe and it was so beautiful! We swam in a lake in Bosnia totally surrounded by waterfalls, laid on a beach in Croatia and watched the stars, got lost up in the mountains and ended up in Serbia instead of Bosnia and we had to drive against traffic in Albania on the highway. It was after this trip I got hooked on world travel for real. It did not matter to me if I was going to have to travel in a hot, hot car without AC or eat bread with tomatoes every day to save money, as long as I was going to be able to see the world.
And that was exactly what I did. Shortly after this road trip I went to China, then India and Ecuador. So far I have been to closer to 60 countries, seen many cool places, met the most awesome people and done the weirdest things! I have absolutely no plan on slowing down any time soon.
