About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the most of every opportunity and appreciate everything I'm lucky enough to have.

ABOUT ME

I'd like to think that I'm pretty easy going and fun to be around. I can be a bit indecisive and am not the most organised person in the world although this isn't always a bad thing as it has led to some fantastic opportunities and experiences during my travels.
I was living and working in the UK for just over 2 years but am now 'back to reality' and full time work here at 'home' in Australia. I love being back and live in a beautiful area but I'm struggling with the concept of only 4 weeks annual leave! I miss overseas travel but I am enjoying exploring a new part of New South Wales.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess it's pretty much my 'current mission' - take every opportunity and appreciate what you have in life. I really value my family and friends and I love that I have been really fortunate to travel to so many places and have had such wonderful experiences seeing amazing things and meeting fantastic people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couch-surfed with others during my travels in Europe and loved the experience.
I am now back living in Australia but unfortunately due to my current living situation am not able to offer a couch. I hope to be able to find a place where I will be able to host couch-surfers as I would love to meet other travellers and share this beautiful area I live in with them. If anyone is coming down this way I would be happy to meet up and provide 'local' info on the area (although I have only been here for a year).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've unofficially 'couch surfed' with friends quite a bit in the past but have only recently joined CS. I've now officially started 'surfing' and have enjoyed my first couple of experiences. I am keen to continue meeting more people and experiencing many more new places.

Interests

I love travelling...but I guess that's a given. I love the beach and swimming - even in winter! I like playing and watching various sports and have tried a few different types of dancing including belly dancing and bollywood dancing. I love a really diverse range of music and going to see concerts/festivals/any live music really. I like hanging out with friends and meeting new people. I also like to curl up on the lounge with a good book.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will watch, listen to and read pretty much anything! I like variety. I can tend to watch a lot of romantic comedies and will admit to liking 'Love Actually' and 'Bridget Jones' Diary'. I also like 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Harry Potter'. I like a lot of Australian music including the Cat Empire, Sarah Blasko, Gotye, most music on Triple J. I also like Stornaway, The Frames and can tend to find myself singing along to Top 40 chart music. I've found myself reading a lot of travel-related novels recently. I also read quite a bit of Philippa Gregory when I was in the UK as I like historical fiction. I like to read books about places I'm travelling to and loved 'Birds without wings' (can't remember the author though!) and Orhan Pamuk novels when I was travelling in Turkey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching sunset over the Mediterranean Sea from my favourite guest house in Turkey, then star gazing and hearing the call to prayer echo through the valley in the stillness of the night (after an amazing vegetarian dinner!).
Having the opportunity to travel with my family through the Northern Territory (among other places) back home in Oz when I was younger. 'Bush' camping in Kakadu, swimming in gorgeous waterfalls in Litchfield National Park and seeing Uluru and the Olgas. Such an amazing experience.
