To travel the world, experience as much as possible, meet as many people as possible, and to stand up for animals all over the world

ABOUT ME

I love travelling (I guess that's common to most people here), and I have a list about a foot long of places I want to go/go back to. I love travelling for thousands of reasons- the definitive one is that I get to meet and hopefully get to know, interesting people from other places. I love museums and art galleries because I see them as collections of beautiful things all brought together. At home and while travelling I love art, music and history. I love listening to myths and local folklore. I also love trekking because the beautiful panoramas you experience aren't de-valued by a bus-tour ticket and oil- which makes everything easier but conceals the true value of the experience. I'm also extremely passionate about animal rights. I love making music. I play a few instruments, mainly guitar and violin.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is still being moulded. I think it involves embracing every experience I can, not placing too high a value on money, and being a voice for animals who cannot speak for themselves.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I recently joined couchsurfing after my friend introduced me to it in Chiang Mai in Thailand. I love it because it makes meeting people from other places hugely easier. Now I'm back in Sydney, I plan to get more involved in meeting people and showing them around. Unfortunately I can't host at the moment, but hopefully that will change.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love film because it helps you travel in space and time without leaving your seat. I love oldies, classics, and alternative films. I love Godard, Schlöndorff, Wes Anderson, Spike Jonze, Tim Burton.

Music- I love most music as long as it isn't too electro. I really love jazz and blues. Faves are the Rolling Stones, Cowboy Junkies, Harry Manx, Billie Holiday, Elliott Smith, Sigur Ros, Cat Empire.

Books- I like good ones, not trashy. I love the ones that weave in folklore and mysticism. 100 Years of Solitude, anything by Jose Saramago, the Unbearable Lightness of Being. I love the descriptions of jazz in 'On the Road'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most perfect day so far was my 19th birthday. I was in Granada. I saw the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra, which I had been yearning to visit since I was a child. I stayed the night in a hotel inside the Alhambra. I will never forget it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play the violin, or the piano, or the guitar. I can take you to good beaches around Sydney. I can teach you to ride a horse (if you have a horse).

I want to learn a new language- any or a little bit of a few!
