我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have not surfed yet, but I have hosted a couple times and loved it! I love the idea of helping people enjoy their travel experience to the fullest without worrying about paying for a hotel or sharing a room with a bunch of strangers at a hostel. At least in my home my boyfriend and I are the only strangers and you get your own room for free :-) I also love the opportunity Couchsurfing provides to meet people and have a local to show you around or provide recommendations. What a great thing we've got going on!

Movies with twists. Thrillers, dramas, comedy if there's also a good plot.

Music with feeling. Particular to rock music but I like a bit of everything.

Books that are well-written and that pull me in and don't let go! My favorite has to be 1984 by George Orwell. Papillon by Henri Charrière is a great true story, anything by Neil Strauss (his writing is so captivating), S.G. Browne, Mandasue Heller... I am particular to dystopian fiction but I really like all kinds of writing. I would love to write a novel one day.

I went to school for English and love linguistics. I would love to help travellers improve their English or French, and would love to improve my own French with someone who is an expert at it! I would also love to learn a third language, and learn about what it's like to live somewhere other than Ottawa!
