doing science, making music.
I'm a 26 y.o. phd student in Rome, Italy. I studied Genetics & Molecular Biology at Sapienza University, spent a few months at Harvard University and then came back to Rome for starting a phd program. I'm also a musician, I play bass and double bass with my band - you can google Edith A.u.f.n. for listening some stuff. We're not superfamous, but we do good stuff - just released for Seahorse Records our first album, now we're working at the second one. I travelled a lot, hosted many great people in Rome and surfed lots of couchs around the world. In the last few years, due to my job which is very demanding and my new flat which is very small, I quite gave up with CS, but I'm waiting for better times!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Trying to host when I can, help CSers in Rome and hang out as much as possible.
I hosted many people in Rome and alway had a great experience. I also surfed quite a lot, I don't want to see an hotel/hostel room anymore in my life!

Music, Movies, and Books
Uh, you can understand so much of a person by his taste in music, cinema and literature.. hope to make a good picture of me through just a few words: I love Einsturzende Neubauten, Joy Division, Sonic Youth, Blonde Redhead, Sigur Ros, Afghan Whigs, the Gomez, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Robert Wyatt and so on. About Cinema, I love trash stuff (B movies and modern derivatives like Tarantino's pulp stuff), Bava, Aronofsky, Araki, Lynch, Jones. Books: Fante, Bukowski, Updike, Feynman, Dawkins.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent a night in the desert eating Peyote in Mexico. Tried to recover from a bad flu living in a tent in Mongolia. Had fleas for a week in Burundi.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a scientist and a musician, so all I can teach basically resides in these two categories: a way of looking at nature and its complexity as one of the most beutiful things exist; an art that make people experience deeper feelings. Have two more passions: I have my personal garden, so I'm pretty good at growing plants! I also love going around m mountains for picking mushrooms and some herbs. And i'm a good chef, so teaching basics of italian kitchen would be great. Learning: everything.. I'm open minded and I love learning new things from everyone, cause everyone can be a master at something.
