CURRENT MISSION

Find purpose in life that makes you happy, as opposed to subscribing to someone else's notion of what success means. Sounds simple and obvious, but I think it's a tricky one.

ABOUT ME

I am just starting out as a grad student in the lovely Boulder, Colorado. In non-studying hours, I bake/cook for stress relief, trail run, hike, climb, ski and all the other activities that everyone here does.

Prior to coming to Boulder, I was traveling through Central America for seven months. I spent most of the time in Nicaragua, volunteering on a farm in Balgue on Isla de Ometepe and teaching computer literacy at a local community center called Mano Amiga. I also spent a good deal of time exploring Guatemala and El Salvador.

I'm an open book, so if there's more you want to know about the above or me in general, just ask!

Interests

Love all things outdoors-hiking, climbing, skiing, etc. Absolutely love to cook, especially with/for other people. Dancing is also one of my favorite things, although my salsa skills could really use a sympathetic partner.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling through Central America, I was constantly amazed by the instant generosity and warmth of people here. Like in Chichicastenango, Guatemala, I met an amazing couple that own a tienda who helped me get oriented in the city and after five minutes of knowing each other, invited me to their house in the country! Got to spend a great day in the country with their family, eating amazing food and watch the women of the family weave beautiful huipiles.
