I have recently married Raphaëlle, and together we want to discover the world before settling down. This is why we are travelling for 6 months along the silk road, from paris to Beijing (Pekin)!

I am calm and she loves to talk, it is a great mix. Most of all, we both love meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We were hosted by friends of friends a few times in the past few months already, and even though we did not know our hosts at first, every time it was an unforgettable experience. Couchsurfing seems to be the best way to continue the experience!

We think that we really need to meet people in order to undertsand a country, not just visit its monuments! We want to discover a country from the inside, so here we are.

Interests

Good food is very important for us! We like to try things we never had before, and there are few things better in life than to share a meal with friends - especially if it is traditionnal and healthy.

Most of all, we love spending time with nice people, talking about everything.

Another thing I personnaly love is photography: I like to try and capture special moments on camera.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I watch a lot of movies from many countries - I especially like Iranian cinema (The day I became a woman). The last big budget movie we watched and loved was Birdman.

Books: I love to read science fiction (Philip K. Dick), Russian literature (most of all Dostoïevsky).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess the 6-month journey across Europe and Asia we are currently on is the most extraordinary thing we have done so far!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am rather good at photography, and I can teach composition, technical aspects (apertures, ISO management, speed...) and retouching.

Raphaëlle is perfectly fluent in English and can teach it - she already taught it for some time in France.
