ABOUT ME
I'm an "easygoing" person, who loves to make new friends, exchanging cultures and ideas.
I'm writing my master thesis (about social movements in Brazil in the 80s), working also for a "favelas" urbanization company and for an ONG that evaluates social programs in Brazil.
I'm also an activist in some movements (ecological, political and urban).
One thing that I love is to dance, specially the samba (samba de gafieira). Like most brazilians, music is not only a part of my life, but it's also a part of my heart and soul.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
I love all kind of movies, from the classics to the hollywood's comercial "I don't wanna think, just have fun". Some Brazilian's movies that I recommend: Tropa de Elite (1 and 2), Bollywood Dreams, À Deriva, Deus e o Diabo na Terra do Sol, Terra em Transe, Cidade de Deus, Diário de Motocicleta.
Other classics are A Terra Treme, Dogville, Tempos Modernos, Dawn of the Dead, Laranja Mecânica, Clube da Luta, Invasões Bárbaras, La Dolce Vita, Um Lugar Chamado Notting Hill, Antes do Amanhecer, Depois do Por-do-Sol...
Music:
Samba, Maracatu, Coco, Cavalo Marinho, MPB, Jazz, Jazz Mamouche, Rock Clássico, Música Clássica, Black Music. Viva a toda poderosa viagem musical do Móveis Coloniais de Acaju!!!!
Books:
The best (material) heritage that my father left me was a huge library that always makes me wonder if I'll ever be able to read at least half of it. Obviously I read a lot of social science books, but I love literature (one of my favorite authors is Balzac!) and, recently, I've discovered that I love autobiographies: Nelson Mandela's is an essencial reading...
