Overview
About Me
I'm from Belém, a city located in the mouth of the amazon river, in Brazil. I have dedicated the past five years of my life to a non-profit that I have started with a few friends, after a scholarship at the MIT. Our organization works for more democratic, sustainable, and humane cities, through education and inclusion of communities in the design process for public policies or real state projects. Also, I love photography (you can check some of my enthusiasm in my Instagram), music (even though the only instrument I know how to play is the “berimbau”, base for capoeira dance) and to travel, learning about cities and countries through people city planning and lots of walking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe we don’t really get to know a place if we don’t get to know its people, their habits, and cultures. Therefore, since 2014, I have joined this community and others like it, trying to help and be helped by travelers and hosts. I truly believe in connection and encounters as tools to build tolerance, respect and brotherhood among peoples, that’s what I do for a living after all, as an urban planner, my work is to bring life to public spaces, to make people talk, have fun, and be happy together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ive got a scholarship from Fulbright, to study city planning at MIT and Harvard. When I got there, I was ready to start study gentrification at the amazon's cities, once there, I shifted to a more practical objective: to start a NGO and change things with my bare hands. Five years after my experience in the US, our organization have executed more than 10 projects and is growing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some portuguese, something about Amazon and Belém's history and architecture. Share some amazing amazonian food and maybe something about cities and why I belive they are the most fantastic of all human kind inventions.
