About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live deep and suck out all the marrow of life

ABOUT ME

NOTE: I live in Washington, DC now, not Seattle. CS has not updated my address yet.

I love to travel but am laid up in DC right now for grad school in Int'l Development.

I'd like to think I'm pretty laid back but grad school might have changed that... I was born and raised in Seattle (uni there too), and so that stereotype fits me pretty accurately. I like enjoying time with people.

PHILOSOPHY

"If you have never found something so dear and so precious to you that you will die for it, then you are not fit to live." ~MLK Jr.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Spreading the word about it, convincing people they should try it if they never have!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first big Couchsurfing experience was traveling around SE Asia for a month and meeting all the amazing local people through Couchsurfing. After that, I was hooked.

Interests

Traveling, the outdoors, cooking, current events, cycling, just to name a few.

Music, Movies & Books

Books: "The Alchemist" ~Paulo Coelho "Life of Pi" ~Yann Martel "The Prophet" ~Khalil Gibran

Music: pretty much anything but I like low-key background music a lot.

Movies: I like historical movies and documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

After college I moved to China to teach English with a friend in a city perpetually covered in fog at the foothills of the Himalayas. "Mystical" is the word that best describes it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a lifelong student and believe anything worth learning in life you have to learn for yourself. That being said, I love to travel and am always open to help brainstorm new travel adventures.

My secret pleasure is math, I kid you not. I love just doing math for fun. So if you want to talk about math, I would do that with you happily :).

What I Can Share With Hosts

What life is like in Washington DC: the good, the bad and the ugly!

Lots of stories too! I'm at 28 countries and counting.

Love to cook too :).

Countries I've Visited

Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Italy, Japan, Monaco, Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand, United States

Countries I've Lived In

Canada, China, France, Taiwan, United States
